Frequently Asked Questions

Are medications included in the egg freezing ($16,000) and IVF packages?

The egg freezing package ($16,000) includes ovarian stimulation medications through egg retrieval and the first year of egg storage. IVF packages (from $34,000) include ovarian stimulation medications and medications for the first FET transfer. Post-transfer medications, early pregnancy medications, and medications for additional transfers are not included. Please confirm with your HRC coordinator.

What is PGT-A, and which packages include it?

PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies) screens embryos for all 23 chromosome pairs to identify chromosomally normal embryos, significantly improving transfer success rates. The Own Egg Self-Conceived ($34,000), Donor Egg Self-Conceived ($40,000), and Egg Donor + Gestational Carrier ($42,000) packages all include PGT-A testing and assisted hatching. The Single Egg Freezing Cycle ($16,000) does not include PGT-A.

Who is the Third-Party Transfer HRC FET Package ($19,800) for?

If you have completed egg retrieval and embryo freezing at another fertility center and wish to transfer to HRC for the embryo transfer procedure, this package is designed for you. The HRC team will assist with third-party agency referrals, tissue transfer coordination, and legal matters. Note: cancellation after cycle start incurs a $10,000 fee; tissue transfer to a third-party institution incurs a $4,000 fee.

How are gestational carrier costs structured in the Family Planning Programs?

Gestational carrier compensation varies by location and experience: out-of-state carriers $120,000–$140,000, California carriers $130,000–$150,000, experienced gestational carriers $150,000–$200,000. These costs cover agency fees, compensation, legal fees, insurance, and prenatal/delivery care. Payments are made in three installments into an escrow account on an actual-cost reimbursement basis.
